#17: heading high
Published at 22:48
We gained another 24.4km and are within a snowballs throw of the watershed, the high point of our traverse.
Another warm day, hovering just below zero with a light breeze from the ESE. Clouds most of the day.
In another three days Paul and 15yo Jade will be put to the test as we scale up our duration and distance. So far conditions have been very mild, the gradient manageable and all within reasonably achievable hourly shifts. With their South Pole expedition looming our upcoming gear shift will be the perfect opportunity to put them to the test. So far they've risen to every challenge and I don't expect them to wither.
