Hi from Eric in Hobart, Tasmania, where I am sweltering in the heat
(well, Tassie heat that is). With only 10 sleeps until departure, we
are all counting down the days as we make final preparations for our
Antarctic odyssey. Here is the place to get updates during the
expedition, not only from me, but from all of the students and staff.
If you are not already receiving them, you can subscribe to email
updates and you can also send messages from this news site directly to
our satellite phone. You have only 158 characters per message, so get
creative. We leave Australia on December 5 and will post some updates
from Ushuaia, Argentina, and then it's onto the Drake Passage as we
head south. Exactly how communicative we will be on the ocean I'm not
so sure but expect daily updates once we reach the continent. Welcome
on board, we look forward to keeping in touch with you.
